  1. Colin, thank you so much for the comparative analysis. I'm finding, as you shared, that much of this depends on the type of photograph and its details. The blur of the background being one small example. Adobe conference coming up in a few days, let's see what gets announced. Thanks again, excellent comparison and feedback.

  2. Hi Colin, thanks for the comparison! there is another way for Gen AI Upscale in Beta – I recently bought a Photoshop script from Andy Christoforou from ArchViz Academy. I won;t paste the link (it is probably against the rules), but you may want to try it out. Works pretty cool, not for everything of course, as it is AI, but solves my res issues in majority of the times.

  3. Generative Upscale is complete garbage. Adobe can never get anything right. Tried to use is on several images and each one turned out extremely worse then the original. ADOBE SUCKS!

  4. Thanks for the helpful video, Colin! I'm one of those unaware of Super Zoom, must try it. But I noticed the focus was on improving screen appearance—do any of these methods also apply to AI-generated images or preparing files for high-res print (e.g., 300ppi)? I’m working on a product label (the original AI background image was larger than the label and reduced in size, then text added) and need it to hold up in actual print, not just digital display. The final pdf looks great, even at 150%… on screen. 😎

  5. I tested this on the same image vs Topaz Photo AI and Photoshop is just so… soooo bad. Laughably bad. I used an image of a person, very well lit. It made the persons skin look like leather, completely unnatural, gave them pores EVERYWHERE and is just frankly a terrible result.

  6. Whilst the resolution is 72 ppi for all the comparisons in the tutorial how would it be if the ppi was increased for print size? It is interesting that Generative upscale can produce good resolution yet I believe Generative fill remains at 1024×1024 pixels which is poor. Any thoughts? BTW the red boxes on the layers in the 2nd image (composite) are mixed up

  7. hi guys, Since the university days I have some of the essential Adobe suite software, cracked. do you think It's worth to subscribe ? Neglect the part of the Adobe creative cloud Usefulness.

  8. Thanks for all of your excellent tutorials. Off Topic: The acronym for artificial intelligence is uppercase, written as AI. This is now confusing sense Adobe Illustrator is Ai and I see AI used for both at times. I wish there could be a consensus. What's your opinion?

  9. For my designs and creative projects this might be helpful. However, as a photographer, as it is now, i would not want to use it on my images. It alters the content too much for my taste and introduces details that werent there at the shot, rather than ust enhancing what was actually there.

  10. I have a feeling we might be facing challenges ahead. It seems likely that we could lose access to PD and Superzoom, which would mean we'd need to adapt to using GEN AI credits instead. The end is near. Then we will have ADOBE PRO MAX ULTIMATE $400 per month with unlimited upscales. 😔😔😔
