I think you went too far, you should do like Canon T2i pro vs Sony A7RV beginner photographer, both shooting raw and see what happens 🙂 That would be the ultimate inspiration for photographers.
Amateur vs Pro is nothing to do with camera or skill. All it comes down to is one is earning a living from their photography and the other isn't. I've seen Pros that are terrible and amateurs that are absolutely amazing. I wish photographers would stop putting Pros on a pedestal like they are experts or in some way better photographers than amateurs. That is not the case at all.
I started only having one point click cams, getting the best out of them. Today I have my Basic Canon DSLR and i wont need more. I learned with the Basics. I only want to have a 2nd Body sometimes
Its both. A camera is a tool. If you dont understand how to use the tool to it full potential, you will not get great results regardless of how fancy the tool is. For any photographer, the biggest challenge is know where to look and when to be there. The rest is just techical details.
Literally just had this paralleled debate in drag group. Is it quality cosmetics or skill? As I said there, I will say here. I feel it's always going to be a mix of both. Especially depending on what you shoot.
Personally I do glamour, editorial, pinup, fashion, fetish, and erotic. The cheap camera and without equipment wouldn't cut it for my vision of these genres and probably not many others, but all the equipment in the world doesn't cover up lack of experience. I like calling myself a proficient amateur (I've been practicing portrait photography since 2009). Cause I feel labeling myself as professional around here is setting myself up for let down.
When all these new photographers (suburban housewives, retired professionals, and such) who have money for the studio, equipment, and all that (and Im still just working with camera, reflectors, and one off camera flash). Even with subpar photograph quality they still give that ambient professional experience that I can't compare with and drives their sales. I however can at least enjoy their surprise at my photo image quality, since my titling as "amateur".
There's no substitute for experience. I once challenged a professional race car driver to a friendly competition. I was driving a Ford Mustang with a 5.0L engine. He was driving a Ford Festiva. He absolutely destroyed me.
Another realistic test…Somehow every photo of her is overexposed to ridiculous level and somehow every photo of his is graded…..Also she decided to take a photo the same way a 3 year old draws a car 2d profile pic whith half the pic bein overexposed sun and sky for no reason.
This is deliberate bullshit to fake sell that an amteur is worst.
15:38 is the best one and it's not even close. Perfect angle and background. And the shitty quality has a natural retro look than takes an older millenial like me on a trip down memory lane when we used to look at magazines where pictures had this exact same kind of vibe.
I have the honor of working in the industry in camera sales. I get to sell Sigma lenses everyday, they are incredibly well made and offer some spectacular lens choices. Their new 28-105 f/2.8 is absolutely amazing. Good job Sigma
You see all these people running round with cameras that have a drain pipe length lens…… when all they need is a simple point n shoot. My Canon G7X does me fine, easy for carrying round london.
My wife is marvelous at this. Knows nothing about cameras, but if you give her an iphone she takes the beste shots. She is slowly learning to use a camera now. Started slow with the aperture and DOF. She is killing it with her creativity.
This video made me completely sad because, judging by the comments and conclusions, I'm pretty much convinced that photography is pretty much a show-off to see who has the most expensive toy. By no means I felt that her photos were richer in meaning, shape or form than his wonderful shots, although after reading the comments, I'm pretty much convinced that I'm getting all of this wrong. As someone who lives in a third world country and would need to let go of three full months of wage to buy an average digital camera, the only thing I can think is that this is not for me, no matter how much I like it or enjoy it. Sad shit, dude. I'm genuinely sad.

I loved the 1 MP pictures 😅
Who still takes photos? There’s a reason we are watching this on youtube and not reading an article with photos on a web page. Great content though ❤

Man, she ate you up! Still, impressive work for such a crap cam.
Wish i had a camera to enter the competition, 0 chance with an iphone
its also not the skill but the natural talent (the creativity, the eye for art). All his shots are gorgeous.
Yeah, so basically camera does determine everything. Lol
camera >>> skills
His pics were more interesting, hers were more pleasing to the eye

Sony camera? Is definitely amateur by default!

p.s in photography the real pro is the editor

Im totally gonna lose this contest…
Hi,Can you help me choose a camera to get into the realm of photography?
I so want to do similar competition too. And your photos was better but i was suprised how good hers was

❤🔵👀
❤ Come to Romania!🫶🏻
Winner THE CAR
I loved that this was the opposite of so many videos. The pro was humble and the tools got their credit, as did the amateur’s eye. Subbed.

that's the camera of my dreams so I can carry on what I started with the photo
This reminds me of DigitalREV when they did a series like this
That last moving photo from 1MP camera… OMG SO Good, that vibes..
Its actually not that hard to take great photos. Specially if you research and keep seeing great photos and their details
