hi Thomas, firstly what an enjoyable vid, secondly that shot within a shot and what an image it is I am totally amazed when I heard your comment of how it came to be "just there" within the main photo. I see it as a mystical, dreamy, minimalistic exposure.

Oh boy… Honestly, I follow you since the very beginning and I am so in love with you, you in person, your content, your work, the way you see things, your behaviour… this can go on for hours. Just to make it short, I simply love you! I own your wunderful book and your past four calendars. I have to admit, that as far from giving all your videos a like, I never commented on your videos. But now I definitely want to let you know, that your dreamy picture at the end made me loose some tears. I am also deep into nature and landscape photography, especially woodlands and those shots, that are the ones I am craving for! I have nothing more to say than I fucking love this picture! (sorry for the wordings…:)) I honestly had tears in my eyes, seeing this! For me this is definitely within my personnel top 3 of all your pictures! Sometimes watching your videos, I'll see one of the B-roll shots and think "omg there's a shot right there!" This time, at 17:06 in the video, I immediately sat up and thought that same thought, praying you got that shot, and thankful to learn a few minutes later that you saw that exact same phenomenal composition. Absolutely gorgeous, what a cool experience to witness & photograph I'm sure.
The photo at the end reminds me of a scene out of Lord Of The Rings.

Question: Why F16 at that long of a distance? At that point are you already at/approaching infinity and then facing diminishing returns past say F8? I only ask as I've had much better luck in the F5.6-F8 range with most lens/camera combinations when at/around infinity chasing distant compositions. This would then lend back some shutter speed to avoid any camera shake or lens diffraction. Just curious… I'm still "new" to the hobby 😉
