This is a great video, Pierre, loaded with effective content. But I have two problems with your presentation. The main one is that you talk a mile a minute and this frequently requires me to backtrack the video to make sure I got what you said. I'm guessing that you are trying to stuff all that content into just one video. The other problem is that, at 20 minutes run time, the video is too long to digest in one sitting. Of course I can stop and continue later but that is a bit inconvenient as it requires keeping a tab open and locating it again in the mess of open YT tabs I typically have open. For me, a video around 10 minutes long is a good compromise between sufficient content and manageable length. I think a model for effective photo tutorials is Simon D'Entremont's channel.
What is the point of using BBF to lock focus in static subjects or moving subjects when Sony A7V locks well on your subject and tracks in AF-C with tracking??
super tuto. – you say that you are mainly using spot tracking but you cannot recompose with it, so i suppose for panning, composition, low speed you are using spot without tracking ? – if you set lens button to subject recognition, do you still use spot tracking instead of spot ? – if you set iso to auto with 16000 limit, in A or S mode, how does SS and aperture respectively change with respect to auto iso ? would be a pity all the time iso raises to 16000 to have 1/1000sec in low light photography
Sony cameras are ISO invariant aren’t they? So you can just shoot at ISO 100/320 and underexpose and get whatever look (contrasty or otherwise) you want in post.

Pierre, thanks again for all the knowledge you shared during your NYC workshop! I love how much of this video is inspired by our group’s early questions and struggles. Proper back button setup and leveraging metering has changed my photography. All of us walked away MUCH better photographers who know how to make the most of their gear due to some of these very tips. Hope to see you again in NYC soon!

I use bust shot instead of BBS. I mostly use the screen monitor instead of the view finder since I shot at weird angles – waist-level, floor level and above the head. Thus I need to make a good grip of my camera to achieve this and this can't be done if my thumb is on the AF button.

Great video. I have an older Canon EOS 1100 D, canon 18-55 mm and canon 75-300mm, CPL filter, Variable ND 2-400, ND 100000 and a cheap square filter system for Cokin P system I shoot in RAW/JPG What will be the best way to get black and white photos. I edit in Darktable and RawTherapee.
Hi Pierre, I've got my pen ready to write along with my Hot Chocolate 😂. Excellent tips and examples like using the AFC together with the BBF. I find manual focus comes in handy when shooting through a steel fence. I find that AFS struggles and hunts for focus. Another gnarly video Pierre many thanks 😊.

On my A6100, I love the feature of tapping the display to move the focus zone to the spot I tapped.

Can you do a behind the scenes video like how you fill through all your images, how you save them all, like using a NAS, editing in Lightroom, etc
